Political Update

Hell0 all -

I'm about to leave for the Osa Peninsula, which has been called "the most biologically intense place on earth" by National Geographic. (See bottom left nub of country - we are staying at Drake Bay.) Some of our professors convinced us to go there - it should be wild, literally. Apparently there are toucans everywhere, snorkeling, ancient ruins, etc.

Anyway, before I leave, I wanted to give you a little of a political update on what is going on in Costa Rica. As you might know, there was a coup in Honduras a couple of weeks ago, and the president was flown into Costa Rica. The president of CR, Oscar Arias, has been chosen to mediate the talks between President Zelaya of Honduras and the government that ousted him. I thought this article was interesting and gave a little background as to what will be happening here tomorrow, and over the coming weeks. Enjoy!   Wall Street Journal Article
